Turned vibe-coded prototypes into shared, collaborative apps

The gap between a demo and a tool#

AI coding tools have made it possible for almost anyone to build a working app. But what people build on their own usually stores its data in the browser's local storage. That works fine for one person on one machine. It falls apart the moment a team tries to use it: everyone sees their own separate data, nobody can see anyone else's results, and clearing the browser wipes it all out.

Anyone can vibe-code a localStorage app. Connecting it to a real database, so results are shared and people can collaborate, is often the skill gap — and that's the gap my team fills.

What we do#

Through our AI-enablement projects, we take apps colleagues have built with AI tools and connect them to a database, so the data lives in one place that everyone on the team works from. From there, we help them enhance the app.

One example: a leadership and career survey#

One colleague came to us with a prompt-based leadership survey they had built with AI, which helps people think through their career direction, with branching logic that adapts to their answers. They came to us because my team has a reputation for pushing innovation, thanks to the AI-enabled dashboards I build quickly to improve collaboration. We connected the survey to a database, so people can come back to their results, and managers can see and share them. The app also uses a custom prompt in the Lab's internal AI to find training and other resources the Lab offers, tailored to each person.
